dc.description.abstract | This is a metaphorical analysis of domestic animals in selected Swahili proverbs with a focus on chicken metaphor based on their source domains. The paper examines the socio-cultural and economic background that shapes the Swahili proverbs and their underlining meanings inherent in them. The paper reveals that the Swahili proverbs are used metaphorically as a repository of traditional wisdom of the Swahili people and a vehicle to articulate their worldview. | en_US |
